摘要：
With the proliferation of GPS enabled devices, massive amounts of geospatial data are being generated at an unprecedented scale. The talk will first give an of the research on mining geospatialdata done by the team of the speaker. Then the rest of the talk will cover the following the following topics on querying and mining geo-spatial data of three different types:
1) representative spatial object selection, 2) deep mining for trajectory data, and 2) region analysis and search.
专家简介：
Cong Gao is currently a Professor with School of Computer Science and Engineering in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), and a codirector for Singtel Cognitive and Artificial Intelligence Lab for Enterprises@NTU (SCALE). Before joining NTU, he was an Assistant professor in Aalborg University, Denmark. Before that, he worked as a researcher at Microsoft Research Asia. From 2004 to 2006, he worked as a postdoc in University of Edinburgh. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from National University of Singapore in 2004. His general research interests are in Data Science. In particularly, his research focuses on geospatial data management, spatiotemporal data mining, recommendation, and mining social media. He has published more than 150 papers of high quality, mostly in prestigious journals (e.g., VLDB Journal, TODS, TKDE) and conferences (e.g., VLDB, SIGMOD, ICDE, KDD, AAAI, SIGIR, WWW). His citation in Google Scholar was over 10000 with H-index 52. He served as a PC cochair for E&A track of VLDB 2014. He serves as a PC viceChair for ICDE18. He is an associate editor for ACM Transactions on Database Systems (TODS) and the vice Chair of ACM KDD Singapore chapter.
