Enhancing Online Media Recommendation Using Social Contexts
报告简介:
With the creation of social networks and sharing communities, social media has become commonplace over the Internet. Recommending media data over these social communities is very important for many applications. For instance, in online news broadcasting and advertisement, a recommendation system will be helpful for users to find their interested products, and accelerate the purchase activities. In entertainment, media recommendation helps users find their interested media data more easily, improving users’ experience. Recently, social media recommendation is drawing more and more attention from database and data mining communities. Social media has rich contexts, such as time, location, user etc, which can enhance the effectiveness of recommendation. This has raised the demand of advanced social recommendation. In this talk, I will introduce our recent work in the social media recommendation.
报告人简介：
周项敏博士，澳大利亚皇家墨尔本理工大学（RMIT University）计算机学院讲师（助理教授）、博士生导师。澳大利亚国家计算机研究中心和皇家墨尔部理工大学联合实验室（NICTA/RMIT Data Analytics Lab）核心成员。周项敏于2005年获得必赢线路检测3003计算机软件与理论博士学位、2008年获得澳大利亚昆士兰大学计算机科学博士学位。曾就职于澳大利亚联邦科学院（CSIRO），先后担任博士后和计算机科学家。先后领导了多个重要课题的研究，并在国际顶级会议（SIGMOD，ICDE，ACM MM）和国际顶级期刊（VLDB Journal，TKDE，TMM）发表30多篇国际学术论文。担任多个顶级会议（ICDE，ACM Multimedia）的PC委员和顶级期刊（VLDBJ，TKDE，TMM，WWW等）的评审人。主要研究领域包括：社交网络分析与挖掘（social event detection, social recommendation，social media streams）；多媒体数据库管理（ multimedia databases and streams, query processing and query optimization）
